‘Flow States’는 30여 년 전 독일에서의 작업부터 한국에서의 여러 작업들을 재구성한 파트와 홍제천을 소재로 한 최근작을 전시한다. 반복되는 이미지와 소리, 움직임들은 관객을 몰입의 상태로 이끌며, 키네틱 장치에서 360도 영상, 알고리즘 실험, AI에 이르기까지, 다양한 매체 실험을 통해 일상의 파편적 장면들은 시각적 음악으로 펼쳐진다.

A journey that follows the rhythms, textures, and moments of everyday life and nature.
“Flow States” brings together works spanning over three decades—from early projects realized in Germany over older and newer works from Korea to a recent piece inspired by the Hongjecheon stream in Seoul. Recurring images, sounds, and movements lead the audience to a state of immersion, through experiments with kinetic devices, 360-degree images, algorithmic- and AI-studies fragmented scenes of everyday life unfold as visual music.

독일 출신 미디어 아티스트 올리버 그림은 1995년 한국에 대한 다큐멘터리 ‘보통 사람들(Parallel Worlds)’을 발표한 이래로 한국 사회와 문화에 대해 지속적인 관심을 가지며 한국을 기반으로 활동하고 있다. 이후 문명과 자연의 관계를 반복과 순환이라는 의미와 표현방식을 통해 다양한 매체 실험으로 변주시키며 작업하고 있다. 영상과 사운드, 조명에서부터 360도 비디오, 인터랙티브 설치물, AI 실험, 가상 현실 등 동시대의 기술변화를 적극적으로 탐구하며 작업 영역을 확장시키고 있다. www.fischkalb.com에서 그의 작업들을 볼 수 있다.

German media artist Oliver Grimm has been based in Korea and actively engaged with Korean society and culture since releasing his 1995 documentary Parallel Worlds, which explored everyday life in Korea. Since then, he has continued to reinterpret the relationship between civilization and nature through the concepts of repetition and circulation, experimenting across diverse media forms. His practice spans video, sound, and lighting to 360-degree video, interactive installations, AI experiments, and virtual reality, actively exploring contemporary technological changes while expanding his artistic scope.
